A letter to my daughter Madison

A matter of moments…
In a matter of moments, those moments are gone.
All the world seems to be inline, happy and wonderful.
Riding in a car, sitting on a sofa watching a movie or walking in a store,
It all feels like things are the way they are supposed to be.
The universe has a balance, a purpose, some meaning.

In a matter of moments, those moments are gone.
If only we could capture those precious instances and put them into a bottle for an eternity.
If only... although they would not seem merely as special.
It is in those moments that we realize how much we cherish and love.
And after, in the end it IS love that makes the moments so special.
When we draw our final breaths on this earth, in this life it is LOVE that makes it all seem so worth it.

In a matter of moments, those moments are gone.
After the music dies down, and the lights dim, and the ripples in the water finally calm,
Love is the fragile string that binds us no matter the distance, we are there.
And so we move forward into the hereafter, into new adventures and experiences.
Forward looking, forward moving, forward thinking and yet the string is omnipresent.
If it were not the case, life would be so different.. And...

In a matter of moments, those moments are gone.
---------------------------------------------------------------

And so I sit here grateful, for every single stupid moment in my entire life...

Thank you, Madi… For all of those moments…

Love, Dad

In the current state of our economy, it seems rather difficult to obtain meaningful employment which would be both satisfying to our budget as well as our existence and happiness. And so, I continue to look and hopefully find "meaningful" employment as I spend my time in this abyss. A daily workout, healthy food and the companionship of a few keep me healthy and sane. In the immortal words of the Great Chief Sitting Bull, " We endeavor to persevere..."
